CxO Meet held by Punjab Skill Development Mission

A CxO meet was conducted in Punjab by the Punjab Skill Development Mission with the theme “Sustainable Employment Opportunities for the Skilled Youth” on 17 Sept 2024. The programme was presided over by the Chief Minister Sri S Bhagvant Singh Mann.


Workshop to align stakeholders with Kaushal Bharat

The Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission organized a three-day workshop in order to enable stakeholders fully align batches with Kaushal Bharat portal at the NIRDPR NERC campus from September 11 to 13, 2024. Twenty participants attended the workshop, including representatives from PIAs, SRLM, the NIRDPR NERC team, and resource persons from NIRDPR Hyderabad. The resource persons were Mr. Kumar Swamy, STM, DDU-GKY, NIRDPR Hyderabad, and Mr. Raghu Vamshi from the Kaushal Bharat technical team, NIRDPR, Hyderabad.


Mr Deepak Reddy takes Oath as Chairman of SEEDAP, Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: 30.09.2024 marked a new chapter for SEEDAP as Mr. Deepak Reddy Gunapati has taken oath as Chairman of SEEDAP (Society for Employment Generation & Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh). The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation; an air of enthusiasm blended with hope filled the conference room where the stakeholders had gathered to welcome him.

As he entered, a round of applause erupted. The CEO of SEEDAP, welcomed Mr. Deepak Reedy Gunapati and began the presentation that would encapsulate the essence of SEEDAP’s mission in Andhra Pradesh: to uplift the rural unemployed and empower the youth through skill development and sustainable employment opportunities.

Mr. Gunapati said, “Let us remember the youth of Andhra Pradesh who are looking to us for direction. Our work must directly reflect their aspirations. Together, we will create opportunities that will resonate through generations.”

He took a moment to interact with various stakeholders—staff members shared their experiences, State Mission Managers highlighted challenges faced, and everyone expressed admiration for the direction they hoped to take under his leadership.

He requested CEO, SEEDAP to organise sector-wise meetings with top Employers to understand their requirements and to make an action plan which can provide better jobs to unemployed rural youth. He further mentioned that the team should work in direction to fulfil the promise made by Andhra Pradesh Government to provide 20 Lakh jobs within 5 years. He further expressed his commitment to fulfil the responsibilities as Chairman, SEEDAP.


Interactive Session with Dr. Sreekumar at Lovegreen Institute

Lovegreen Association organized an interactive session with Dr. Sreekumar on 17 September 2024 to provide students with an opportunity to engage with a seasoned professional in the Hotel Management and Tourism sector. Dr. Sreekumar, who holds an honorary doctorate in Hotel Management and Tourism, has over four decades of experience and has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award for his contributions to the industry.

The primary objective of the session was to expose students to industry insights, trends, and career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sectors. It aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by providing students with practical knowledge and a clearer understanding of the skill sets needed for success in the field.

• Career Pathways in Hospitality and Tourism

Dr. Sreekumar outlined various career options available to students, ranging from hotel management to tourism consultancy. He emphasized the importance of gaining practical experience and networking within the industry.

• Industry Trends and Challenges

The session included a discussion on the evolving trends in hospitality and tourism, such as the impact of technology, changing customer expectations, and the importance of sustainable tourism. Dr. Sreekumar also addressed some of the challenges the industry faces, such as workforce skill gaps and economic fluctuations.

•Personal Experiences and Case Studies

Drawing from his extensive experience, Dr. Sreekumar shared several real-world examples and case studies, providing students with a glimpse into the complexities of managing hospitality operations and tourism projects.

• Q&A Session

Students actively participated in the Q&A session, where they posed various questions related to career planning, industry best practices, and the qualifications needed for specific roles. Dr. Sreekumar offered valuable advice, encouraging students to continuously upgrade their skills and remain adaptable.

The session was well-received by students and faculty members alike. Participants appreciated Dr. Sreekumar’s in-depth knowledge, engaging presentation style, and his willingness to address each question with clarity and depth. Many students expressed that the session provided them with a better understanding of the industry and inspired them to pursue careers in hospitality and tourism.

A Festival of Colors and Togetherness: UISS Malappuram Hosts its First Onam Celebration

On September 13, 2024, UISS Malappuram erupted with exuberance as it celebrated its inaugural Onam, a festival that marks the triumphant homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali, embodying the spirit of unity and the victory of good over evil. The program was magnificently inaugurated by Muhammad Shanith, the State Head, who infused the celebration with his inspiring words, setting a vibrant tone that resonated throughout the campus. Trainers and staff conveyed their heartfelt wishes and greetings, creating an atmosphere brimming with joy and camaraderie.

The festivities were a spectacular showcase of cultural richness, featuring the enchanting Thiruvathirakkali, a traditional dance that mesmerized everyone, and an exhilarating Onam Song Competition that brought forth the melodic heritage of Kerala. The campus was transformed into a visual feast with stunning Pookalam, intricate floral designs painstakingly crafted by students, symbolizing a warm welcome to King Mahabali and radiating beauty and prosperity. Each vibrant arrangement told a story, captivating all who laid eyes upon them.

The highlight of the celebration was the grand Onam Sadhya, an opulent feast of mouthwatering vegetarian dishes served on banana leaves. Students and staff donned their finest traditional attire, creating a stunning tableau of colours and elegance. The aroma of sambar, avial, and payasam wafted through the air, inviting everyone to indulge in a culinary journey that celebrated Kerala’s rich gastronomic heritage.

Adding to the excitement were traditional games that ignited laughter and spirited competition. The Tug of War emerged as the crowd favourite, drawing cheers and enthusiastic participation, while games like Water Filling, Biscuit Bite, and the thrilling Pot Breaking sparked friendly rivalries and joy. Together, these elements crafted a memorable celebration, a vibrant tapestry of gratitude, togetherness, and cultural pride that left an indelible mark on everyone present.

As the echoes of Onappaattu (Onam songs) filled the air, the day culminated in a euphoric atmosphere, truly embodying the essence of Onam. The inaugural celebration at UISS Malappuram was not just an event; it was a breath-taking tribute to heritage, community, and the joyous spirit of one of Kerala’s most beloved festivals!


Report on Alumni Interaction Session with Miss Aswathi

As part of our institution’s ongoing efforts to connect students with industry professionals and provide them with real-world insights, we were privileged to host Miss Aswathi, an esteemed alumnus of Lovegreen Institution, for an interactive session with our students. Currently working in the cargo division of Turkish Airlines in Bengaluru, Miss Aswathi shared her journey and experiences with great enthusiasm. 

Key Highlights of the Session 

1. Career Journey

Miss Aswathi began by sharing her career path from her time as a student at Lovegreen Institution to her current position at Turkish Airlines. She elaborated on the challenges she faced and how she overcame them through persistence, hard work, and dedication.

2.Work at Turkish Airlines

Providing a glimpse into her work in the cargo division, Miss Aswathi explained the operations, logistics, and management involved in international cargo transport. She also highlighted the importance of teamwork, attention to detail, and efficiency in the aviation industry.

3. Industry Insights

Students gained valuable information of the aviation and cargo sectors. Miss Aswathi shared current trends, technological advancements, and the skills required to thrive in this competitive industry. She also encouraged students to stay updated with global events as they directly impact industries like cargo and logistics.

A lively Q&A session followed, where students asked questions ranging from career prospects in aviation to the technical aspects of cargo management. Miss Aswathi answered each question with clarity, providing thoughtful advice and motivation for students aspiring to enter similar fields.

Events of Lovegreen Association

Tata Group Program

The program was successfully held on 11 September 2024 at Lovegreen association puliyarmala organized for the esteemed TATA group. The event aimed to give a training session of production and service to the hotel management students.

The program started with a welcome drink followed by a traditional Sadhya featuring 15 items served on a banana leaf. The lunch was a traditional feast of sweet sour spicy and salty. After the Sadhya students served semiya payasam to conclude the Sadhya perfectly. All the arrangements, service, and production done only by the students with the help of faculties to get the best training for future success. The program was ended with the tea and snack served to the attendees.

Feedback And Conclusion

The program of TATA group organized and executed by students was really a success, showcasing their cooking and service skills. The coordination of students was really appreciable. The participants enjoyed the Sadhya and evening tea snack. The students ensured a seamless service throughout the event, maintaining a high standard of hospitality and attentiveness. Their efforts in managing the flow of the program from the production, service to the final tea and snack were commendable.

Bustaurant: Student Tea and Snack Sales

During the “Pappadam” cultural festival, the students of Lovegreen Institute showcased their production and entrepreneurial skills by setting up a unique tea and snack counter inside a creatively converted bus—popularly known as the “Bustaurant.”


Training program conducted by DDU-GKY RC, NIRDPR in the month of September, 2024

The Training & Development team organised three online training programs in September ’24. The programs covered topics on Due Diligence & Inspection, P.A.C.E  and Kaushal Aapti App. Through these training sessions, 49 officials of SRLMs & PIAs majorly from the states of Assam, Maharashtra, Meghalaya and Haryana were up-skilled in the respective themes.

 Support to SRLMs in Capacity Building  

As CTSA DDU-GKY has provided handholding support to the SRLMs as per their demand. In the month DDU-GKY team facilitated a 1-day capacity-building program for officials of Puducherry on Project closure in Kaushal Bharat Module in DDU-GKY SOP on 19th Sep’24. This program up-skilled the officials on project closure module in Kaushal Bharat. In this program, 35 officials of the state were up-skilled.

DDU-GKY Himayat placed girls shine at La Pino’z Outlet in Jammu

Himayat DDU-GKY trained placed girls Neena Devi (left), Priksha, Babli Devi & Anu Devi (rt) shine at one of the outlets of La Pino’z , India’s fastest-growing pizza outlet chains in Jammu. All the girls are trained and placed by PIA M/s ABM Enterprises in a residential training center in Jammu.

Neena Devi has completed 2 years with the employer. She joined on 25th June 2022

Priksha has completed 2 years with the employer. She joined on 10th December 2023

Babli Devi has completed 1 year & 10 months with the employer. She joined on 12th Jan 2023

Anu Devi has completed 1 year and 5 months with the employer. She joined on 1st May 2023

All the girls continue to work for the same employer.

Journey of Himayat DDU-GKY candidate Kunti Devi from Employment to Entrepreneur

Kunti Devi R/o Purmandal block of District Samba of Jammu division (J&K) block got trained in Assistant Fashion Designing by PIA M/s Sun Retail and placed in Cantabil. She worked there for three months, saved money from her salary, purchased an umbrella machine, and started her own boutique in her native village. She always desired to do something of her own. She narrated that she used to stitch around 200 dresses per month in her Boutique and charge Rs 200 for simple salwar kurta stitching and Rs 300-400 for a designed dress.
