Anand Gaurav – A journey doing us proud

“Raghaw Sir!” At the corridors of the famous Medanta Hospital in Patna, someone called out to Raghaw and greeted him warmly. As a tall young man removed his mask and smiled through his beard to Raghaw, a bewildered Raghaw asked him: “Who are you? How do you know me?” “Sir, I am Anand, you had guided and motivated me during your inspection visit to the DDU-GKY training center and praised me for my good performance”…he jogged his memory which went way back to 2018. Anand could instantly recognise Raghaw, who is posted as Asst Director from DDU-GKY RC, NIRDPR to Bihar as CTSA.

Anand Gaurav who hails from a farming family from Vaishali, Bihar was trained as a Dialysis Technician from Apollo Medskills Ltd way back in December 2018, is now working in the Healthcare Department (Dialysis) of the Medanta Hospital, Patna and is currently earning 30,000 INR a month. He has been progressing in his career over the years.
He could also complete his higher studies over these years as he had passed his 12th class when joining DDU-GKY. “I am very impressed with the DDU-GKY program and hope that this scheme will be helpful to many a deserving youth of our country”. Anand told Raghaw amidst his excitement. We have yet to ask Raghaw whether his nagging knee pain got completely transformed into a swelling pride after this incident. We felt so, on reading his post in our work group.
At the end of the day, and yes when the day breaks, it is such heartwarming stories and encounters that give us what is a holy grail for many in this world – job satisfaction..

Vanquishing the apprehensions…Mercy and Darshana DDU-GKY Candidates, Groom India Salon and Spa Pvt. Ltd, Chennai

“The clouds are seen so high and we do think that we should reach that high. Yes we are galloping towards our goal and it’s high time for us to accelerate” – says Mercy and Darshana (DDU-GKY Candidates, Groom India Salon and Spa Pvt.Ltd, Chennai)

There had been a time when we thought that we are never going to witness a life with glory. But here we are with all the insecurities fought with a sword of determination and shield of perseverance. We have always been fascinated by beauty and beauty products. We do always think of becoming someone who can have tremendous opportunities in the beauty field. So we enrolled in the Hair dresser course offered by the scheme DDU-GKY.

At first, it was a state of uncertainty. The need to earn money and come out of the family distress, propelled us to take this decision which seemed a practical one.

We do feel delighted all the time whenever we are asked to be in the practical sessions. We never felt the strain to learn this course since it offered us a very peaceful and positive environment. We do believe that more than theoretical knowledge it is the practical knowledge that articulates someone’s caliber. The knowledge derived from this course is abundant to be an entrepreneur with own resources built up, the idea about which some of us have already thought of. We had sessions throughout on pedicure, manicure, hair styling, nail arts. Minute things have to be taken care of vigilantly when the services are done since it impacts the quality of the outcome.

We are grateful to our trainers who had devised effective methodologies to impart us the practical knowledge about the course. The immense support by the center staff is always to be remembered. The significance of this course is its long term feasibility. We also will undergo the pain of bidding good bye to our friends along with whom we learned, grew and upskilled together. But above all it’s the life that needs to be nurtured with viable decisions.

“We have deep sense of gratitude to DDU-GKY that gifted us a ray of hope and will always be working to accomplish the desired goals set by us to grab a feasible livelihood.”
