Hon’ble Minister of Finance Smt Nirmala Sitaraman visits training centre in Andhra Pradesh

20th Feb’24 Vijayawada: Minister of Finance, Government of India Smt Nirmala Sitaraman visited Digital Bhavan at Pedamainavani Lanka in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. The Digital Bhavan is a Hybrid Training Centre that offers various Skill Development Programs, including DDU-GKY, PMKVY, PM Viswakarma, and other CSR initiatives.

During her visit, the Minister interacted with beneficiaries of PM Viswakarma and DDU-GKY. She was pleased to hear about their achievements and progress. Ten placed candidates of DDU-GKY were present on the day, and the Minister personally interacted with each one of them.

The Minister also distributed certificates to a few candidates, recognizing their hard work and dedication towards their training programs. She commended the efforts of Digital Bhavan in providing valuable skills and opportunities to the youth of Andhra Pradesh.

The Digital Bhavan is a state-of-the-art training center, equipped with modern technology and resources to provide high-quality training to its beneficiaries. It has been instrumental in bridging the skill gap and creating a skilled workforce in the state. West Godavari district stood top in the nation in implementing Skill Development programs.

The Minister was impressed with the success rate of the various programs conducted at Digital Bhavan. She urged people to make use of the programs being conducted at Digital Bhavan and to contribute towards the development of skilled manpower in the country.

Minister of Finance, Andhra Pradesh Shri. Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Principal Secretary Shri Suresh IAS and CEO, SEEDAP Mr. MKV Sreenivasulu were present during the visit.

The visit of the Minister of Finance is a testament to the success and impact of Digital Bhavan in empowering the youth of Andhra Pradesh through skill development. It is a step towards achieving the government’s vision of a skilled and self-reliant India.


The Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor to the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, Ms.TANUJA THAKUR KHALKHO, IRAS visits DDU-GKY and RSETI Centres in Visakhapatnam district of AP

The Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor to the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, Ms. Tanuja Thakur Khalkho, IRAS made a visit to Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh to inspect the implementation of various Rural Development programs on 16th February 2024.

During her visit, she first went to the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) of State Bank of India at Anakapalli. She interacted with the beneficiaries of various programs and enquired about the success rate of the programs at RSETI.

She then visited a Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) Training Centre at Pendurthi, which is maintained by Datapro Computers Pvt Ltd. She took a tour of all the classrooms, labs and residential facilities at the centre. She also interacted with the trainees of ongoing batches and enquired about their level of satisfaction towards the program.

During her visit, a souvenir of success stories of DDU-GKY was launched by the Joint Secretary. She urged the trainees to make the most of the program and to fulfil their career objectives through it.

She also visited the Mahila Mart being setup by the SHG Women through DRDA at Anandapuram and encouraged the women

The Joint Secretary also met with the officials of the district administration and discussed the progress of various rural development schemes in the district. She appreciated the efforts of the district administration in implementing these programs and urged them to continue working towards the betterment of rural areas. Her visit was accompanied by Executive Director, SEEDAP Dr.Shyam Prasad and the Project Director of DRDA Visakhapatnam district.

The visit of the Joint Secretary to Visakhapatnam district has provided a boost to the morale of the beneficiaries of these programs. It has also encouraged the district administration to continue their efforts in implementing these programs and bringing about a positive change in the lives of rural communities.


Intensive Capacity Building and Training Programme on DDU-GKY for DMMU and BMMU, Assam

A Capacity Building Training Programme was organized by SMMU, ASRLMS and was conducted by resource persons from NIRDPR, Hyderabad Mr. M Kumar Swamy (State Team Manager) and Ms. Julie Buragohain (Project Officer). The training programme was conducted for a total of 472 participants (District Functional Experts (Skills), Block Project Managers, Block Co-ordinators (Skills) of 34 districts of Assam).

The participants were divided into 8 batches and the training agenda was prepared for 2 days per batch covering every aspect of DDU-GKY.

A total of 439 officials comprising District and Block officials attended the training program held from 5th February to 16th February 2024.

Participants were also imparted training on Ethical Conduct of Government officers and Office procedure- File management, Docketing, etc to enable the officials to work efficiently.


Valedictory Event – British Council India in Collaboration with DDU-GKY,TNSRLM

The British council India, partnered with the TNSRLM to fulfill the vision of the standardizing the English/Soft skill curriculums of DDU-GKY project in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Furthering to it training programs were conducted for the Non domain trainers on batch wise mode. Few of the trainers who had exceled in their contribution and performance were awarded with the certificates by the British council. With all the new deliverables incorporated, curriculums were devised with a new level of methodology of teaching and were handed over to the candidates.

A few interactive activities associated with the new teaching methodologies were also incorporated in the sessions which were held throughout the period. Subsequent to it training and assessments were conducted to analyse the performance of the participants in depth. Further, a few focus group discussions were also conducted.

The courses were developed in consultation with NOCN group and based on discussions with the academic review committee, British Council’s understanding of the context and observations from the scoping study. This course had helped the learners develop in all language areas, including speaking, writing, reading, listening, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

The function was graced by Ms S. Divyadharshini, IAS, Managing Director, TNCDW, Ms Janaka Pushpanathan, Director South India & Education Lead, Trainers, and Students. The highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding learning and extracurricular achievements, where the trainers and students were honoured with applauds.

The valedictory function provided a moment of reflection on the transformative impact of training and the invaluable bonds forged within the team. It served as a reminder of the immense potential and limitless possibilities that lie ahead for the trainers.

Among the highlights of the evening were the presentation of the projects and the experience sharing by the Trainers and students. Their achievements and milestones serve as a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and passion for learning.


Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) Organies CXO Meet

Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission organized a CXO Meet 2023-24 on 28th February, 2024, at Hotel Polo Tower. The main purpose of the CXO Meet was to convene, discuss, and collaborate on matters related to employment, skill development, and networking opportunities among different Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs), TRLM and Employers. By bringing together senior officers (CXOs) from various organizations, the event sought to foster collaboration, discuss strategies for enhancing employability, and explore ways to support skill development initiatives. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Brahmneet Kaur, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of TRLM with Dr Smita Chetia Talukdar Regional Head of NSDC, Dr. Sankharaj Roy, Chief Operating Officer of TRLM setting the tone for an inspiring gathering. Employers from outside and inside state like CII-MCC, Creamstone, Stanworth, S.S Consultants, Pran Beverages India Pvt. Ltd, Ginger Hotel, Hotel Parkline, Hyundai etc graced the CXO Meet 2023-24.

In the opening address by Dr. Brahmneet Kaur, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of TRLM highlighted the significance and impact of the DDU-GKY scheme in the state. She also emphasized how the DDU-GKY program plays a crucial role in empowering rural youth by providing them with skill development training and employment opportunities. Additionally, she also discussed the achievements of the program and its contributions to rural development, poverty alleviation, and inclusive growth.

In the discussion Session of CXO Meet 2023-24 provided an invaluable platform for Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs), employers, and TRLM to collaborate, strategize, and forge partnerships in several key areas such as Placement Opportunities, Skill Development, Network Building, Feedback and Evaluation. Overall, the CXO Meet served as a catalyst for fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective action among PIAs, employers, and TRLM to further the goals of the DDU-GKY program and promote rural livelihood development.

In conclusion, the CXO Meet 2023-24 was far more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of achievement and a testament to the transformative power of skill development and employment programs. It served as a reaffirmation of the positive change that can be brought about when PIAs, employers, and organizations like TRLM come together in pursuit of a brighter future for rural communities. Moreover, the CXO Meet underscored the importance of collaboration and partnership in driving sustainable development. By fostering dialogue and cooperation among PIAs, employers, and TRLM, the event demonstrated the potential for synergy and innovation in addressing the challenges of rural unemployment and poverty.


Tripura SRLM Organizes State level JOB FAIR

The State Level Job Fair organized by TRLM on 28th February, 2024 at Agartala was indeed a resounding success, particularly benefiting the candidates trained under the DDU-GKY Scheme. The Program was inaugurated by Smt. L Darlong, TCS, SSG, Addl. Chief Executive officer of TRLM, Smt. Debbie Halam, TCS, Deputy Chief Executive officer of TRLM, Dr. SankhaRaj Roy, Chief Operating Officer (S & P) of TRLM and other dignitaries. The participation of DDU-GKY trained candidates from different parts of the state underscored the inclusivity and reach of the program. It showcased the commitment of TRLM to empower youth from rural areas across the entire state, ensuring that opportunities for skill development and employment are accessible to all.

By bringing together candidates trained in a multitude of courses and connecting them with employers from diverse industries, the Job fair facilitated a synergistic exchange that benefited both the candidates and the participating companies. A total of 14 companies participated from both inside and outside the state, such as Stanworth, CII-MCC, Creamstone, Pran beverages India Pvt. Ltd, Reliance Trends, Bharat Microfinance etc, and conducted the interviews of 360 participants out of which 261 candidates were either selected or shortlisted by the employers.

The participation of companies from both within and outside the state underscores the attractiveness of the skilled workforce trained under DDU-GKY. It also reflects positively on the efforts of TRLM in promoting employment opportunities and facilitating partnerships between businesses and skilled individuals.

Overall, the success of the State Level Job Fair signifies a step forward in leveraging skill development initiatives for the holistic development of the state, empowering its youth, and driving economic prosperity.


Himayat Alumni: Journey of Fiaz Ahmed from Himayat Placed Trainee to Guest at the 75th Republic Day

Himayat Scheme has helped Youth achieve, true to the spirit of its tagline. This is the success story of a candidate who has grown professionally with the help of Himayat. Meet Fiaz Ahmed from Doda district of Jammu division who was trained in the BPO domain under Project Himayat in Nov 2018 and got the placement opportunity in Teleformance BPO in Chandigarh.

He had the privilege to interact with the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during radio program “Mann ki Baat” on All India Radio. Since then, he has hogged all the limelight either from UT Administration as well Govt of India. He was invited as a Guest in the celebrations of 75th Republic Day in New Delhi.

He said that he was overwhelmed to receive the invitation and boarding and lodging arrangements made for him and his wife. He said that it was a lifetime experience for him attending the Republic Day Celebrations with other dignitaries in the National Capital. “It was an emotional moment for me seeing the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and listening to the words of wisdom narrated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister”, he said. Training program conducted in the month of February 2024 by DDU-GKY RC, NIRDPR

In the month of Feb’24 a total of 8 programs were organised by the DDU-GKY RC, NIRDPR. 7 programs were conducted in online and one program was conducted in offline mode at NIRDPR. The programs were conducted on topics of Financial Procedure & PFMS, Placement Procedure, Quality Management, Assessment & Certification, and Orientation on Sanctioning of Additional target for SRLMs, including one writeshop on Coffee Table Book for DDU-GKY program. In these programs 205 personnel were upskilled/ oriented on respective domains from different states.

Orientation on DDU-GKY Program Implementation for DM-Skills of Karnataka SRLM at NIRDPR

As per the demand of Karnataka SRLM a two day orientation training was conducted at NIRDPR from 22th to 23rd Feb’24 for DM-Skills on DDU-GKY program. 33 officials from Karnataka SRLM participated in the program.

Virtual Writeshop on Coffee Table Book of DDU-GKY

DDU-GKY RC, NIRDPR was assigned the responsibility of designing a Coffee Table Book of DDU-GKY Program by MoRD. A one day virtual writeshop was organized with state officials to finalize the content input from the states and get the required write-ups and success stories from the states to be collated in the coffee table book. In this workshop, 31 officials from all states participated and contributed to designing the coffee table book.

Himayat Alumni: Strong, Successful, Self Independent: Suman Bala

HIMAYAT has been instrumental in not only providing training platforms but also has a proven record of providing sustainable placement opportunities to transform one’s life. One such platform had been utilised by a village girl in 2013 to achieve her dream of becoming independent and lead a life of dignity.

Impressed by the scheme, she enrolled herself in the Himayat Training center of Don Bosco Tech Society at Bishnah in Retail Domain in June 2013. After the completion of the three months course, she got the offer letter of Competent Synergies Pvt. Ltd. for Mohali location in September 2013 with a salary of 5100 per month. After that, She worked in various employers like Chat Aroma and REVLON. There she handled sales at the counter along with demo of the product to the customer.

While working in Chandigarh, she got the offer from The Body Shop for Jammu location. She accepted the offer after working for about 2.5 years outside her home state. She joined The Body Shop outlet on 5th September, 2015 in Wave Mall, Jammu as Make up –Artist with a salary of Rs.16000/- per month. The Body Shop is a British cosmetics, skin care and perfume company.

She chose the best Option from the basket available at that time and since then it has been more than 8 years that she is still working with the same employer, The Body Shop. In due course of time she enhanced her qualification from 10th to Graduation and got various promotions and increments. Today she is Senior Make-up Artist with a salary of Rs.36000/- per month excluding the incentives. Her job profile includes Sales, Demo of the product, Testing products, Managing Stock, Visual Merchandise, Customer Service Delivery and many more aspects.
