78th Independence Day Celebration at NIRDPR
Independence Day was celebrated at NIRDPR on 15 August 2024. Dr G Narendra Kumar, IAS, Director General, NIRDPR hoisted the national flag as the Chief Guest and addressed the audience about the role of rural development and NIRDPR in the country’s vision of becoming Viksit Bharat.

3-Day Training programme in Gujarat on 28th, 29th and 30th August 2024
NIRDP&PR Hyderabad supported GLPC in building the capacities of the DDU-GKY functionaries of PIAs at a 3-Day training programme in Gujarat. The program was mainly intended for the PIA OP-Team, Q-Team, Placement Executives, MIS executives, and Finance Heads, including Gujarat SRLM & TSA officials. Two workshops were conducted offline, and the other one was conducted online.
The first Day workshop was arranged on the “Quality overview of DDU-GKY program implementation” for the PIA’s Operation and Quality Teams.
The second Day workshop was dedicated to the PIA’s Placement executives.
The third Day workshop was on “Kaushal Bharat for the PIA-MIS Executives” and “Project Financial Procedures for the PIA’s Finance Heads.”

There were a total of 104 participants in these programs.
Independence Day Celebrations at States and Training Centers:
Himayat celebrates Independence Day in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir
Himayat celebrated Independence Day with full enthusiasm and gaiety across all the training centres in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A series of activities like Chart Making, Rangoli Making, Songs, Dances, Symposium, Debates etc were organised in weeklong celebrations. National Flag Hoisting, Parade etc was also organised in a few of the residential training centres.

Independence Day Celebration by DDU-GKY candidates in Tripura (A Celebration of Freedom and Unity)
On the 78th Independence Day of India, the serene setting was graced by heartwarming events at all the DDU-GKY training centers in Tripura. The PIA officials and candidates of the Training Centres gathered to honour the nation’s freedom, making the celebration an inspiring testament to inclusion, patriotism, and resilience.
The candidates from the training centres performed a series of cultural programs that left the audience in awe. Their performances included pyramid activities and patriotic songs and dances that resonated with the themes of independence, courage, and unity. Each act was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students and the staff at the centers.
The day’s events began with the hoisting of the national flag, a moment that filled everyone present with a deep sense of pride and unity. The sight of the tricolor waving in the breeze, against the backdrop of the memorial, was a powerful reminder of the nation’s strength and resilience. The training centers name i.e. Aaruthal Foundation, Aishwarya Vignan Educational Society, Ms Support Services Private Limited, Netprophets Cyberworks Private Limited and Satyam Satpura Samaj Sewa Samiti who were conducted events in the training centers.
The training centers are dedicated to providing skill-based training and placement, enabling these candidates to lead independent and fulfilling lives. The participation of the candidates in the Independence Day celebration was not just symbolic; it was a reflection of their abilities, progress, and unwavering spirit.

A Spectacular Ode to Freedom: UISS Malappuram’s Grand Independence Day Celebration Unites Hearts and Spirits, Kerala
On August 15, 2024, UISS Malappuram proudly celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day with deep patriotic fervour and honour. The day’s events commenced with an inspiring inauguration by the Honourable Malappuram Municipality Councilor, Mujeeb Kaderi, who also participated in the flag-hoisting ceremony. The national flag was then hoisted by Muhammed Shanith, the State Head of UISS, as it fluttered majestically against the clear sky, symbolizing the spirit of freedom and unity that defines our nation.
Following the flag hoisting, Shanith delivered an inspiring speech that emphasized the enduring values of freedom and unity, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by our forefathers. The ceremony was further enhanced by the playing of the national anthem, with all present standing in reverent silence, their hearts swelling with national pride.
The heart of the celebration was the Patriotic Song Competition, where students filled the air with the stirring melodies of iconic national songs. Each performance resonated with the valour and sacrifice of our freedom fighters, celebrating the triumphs and struggles of those who paved the way for our liberty. The soulful renditions evoked a powerful sense of national pride and unity.
The day also featured a moving speech by students on “Tribute to Freedom Fighters,” which poignantly highlighted the courage and dedication of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. Adding a dynamic touch, the Quiz Competition tested students’ knowledge of Indian history and the legendary figures who fought for our freedom, reinforcing the significance of our shared heritage.
This vibrant celebration served as a tribute to the indomitable spirit of our nation and a call to honour the legacy of those who made our freedom possible. The event inspired a renewed sense of unity and patriotic pride among all participants, marking the day as a memorable and cherished occasion in the heart of UISS Malappuram.

Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Love Green Association, Kerala
A great day and a proud moment for every Indian, Love Green Association staff and students celebrated Independence Day honoring our great leaders, upholding the spirit of our cultural diversity and patriotism
Students from Prerana participated in the event, and we warmly welcomed them by presenting each with an Indian flag. They were also given sweets and refreshments one of the students presented a delightful dance performance on the stage, adding a special touch to the celebration and it showcased their enthusiasm
Specially-abled children received prizes for their participation in the Independence Day program Their involvement and efforts were celebrated with awards recognizing their contribution to the events and adding a heartfelt element to the celebration.

TRLM Hosts Meetup with CEO for DDU-GKY Alumni in Bengaluru
On August 31, 2024, the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) organized a special Meetup Programme in Bengaluru for alumni of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY). The event was graced by the Chief Executive Officer of TRLM, Shri Ajit Sukla Das, TCS, SSG, who warmly welcomed and congratulated over 50 alumni working in various reputed companies across Bengaluru, Karnataka.
DDU-GKY, a flagship initiative under the Ministry of Rural Development, has been instrumental in providing skill development training and job placement to rural youth. The Bengaluru meet-up was a significant occasion for these former students, who have successfully transitioned into their professional careers, to reconnect and share their experiences.
An interaction session was held with the alumni youth. Shri Ajit Sukla Das, TCS, SSG, acknowledged the hard work and achievements of the alumni, expressing pride in their contributions to the workforce. The meet-up offered a platform for the alumni to reflect on their personal growth where they also expressed their gratitude for the opportunities provided by TRLM.

The success of this event highlights the pivotal role that TRLM plays in empowering rural youth, demonstrating how skill development programs can transform lives and contribute to the economic growth of the nation.
Awareness Rally on HAR GHAR TIRANGA CAMPAIGN celebrated by DDU-GKY candidates, Tripura
15th August 2024 is indeed a milestone as we celebrate 78 years of Independence. Har Ghar Tiranga is a campaign to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 78th year of India’s Independence. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
This day fills us with pride and glory when we reminisce about the journey that our country undertook from being just a ‘colony’ to rebelling against the status of ‘dominion’ to finally achieving ‘Purna Swaraj’. We pay homage to all the martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom and security of our motherland.
Aishwarya Vignan Educational Society has organized the Rally/campaign with the students and staff members on the 14th August 2024.

The students and staff members have been encouraged “to observe the flag code and give due respect to our National Flag”.
Events at Love Green Association, Wayanad, Kerala:
Students conduct Airport Operation Demo Presentation
A demo presentation of airport operation was conducted effectively with role assigned and executed by the AV1 Batch. The session covered various aspects of airport operations, including Check-in, Security, Passenger assistance, and more.
Following the presentation, a feedback session was held where suggestions and observations were shared to enhance future demonstrations.

Viva voce for DDU-GKY candidates
The Department of Aviation held a viva voce for Module 1, conducted by Mrs. Asmath, the Head of the Department. The event took place with the Aviation 1 batch, focusing on evaluating the students’ understanding and proficiency in the module 1. Mrs. Asmath, renowned for her expertise and meticulous approach, led the session, guiding the students through an in-depth discussion and assessment of their knowledge. The viva voce provided a platform for students to demonstrate their grasp of the course material and engage in meaningful dialogue with their instructor, contributing to their overall academic development.
The viva conducted in the Food and Beverage (F&B) lab proved to be a valuable experience for students, significantly enhancing their confidence and communication skills. By engaging in this practical exercise, students not only gained a better grasp of their subject matter but also found renewed motivation to refine their study techniques. The session concluded at 12:00 pm, marking a successful culmination of efforts that contributed to both their personal and academic growth. This hands-on approach underscores the importance of integrating real-world practice into learning to foster a deeper understanding and improved skills.

JSLPS Skill Team organises a 3-day Residential Training for CLF Leaders/Members in August 2024 at Saptrishi Seva Sadan, Tupudana, Ranchi
Objective
The objective of the training was:
- Orientation of CLF members on DDU-GKY
- Promotion of CLF as viable community-based institution.
- To develop CLF as a nodal agency for awareness, mobilization, counselling, and registration of DDU-GKY/ROSHNI project.
- Proper awareness, mobilization, counselling, screening, and documentation at CLF for right candidates for right trades.
Event Details
JSLPS skill team organized a 3-day residential training for CLF members in August 2024 at Saptrishi Seva Sadan, Tupudana, Ranchi. The CLFs were provided insights into the importance of skill development for sustainable livelihood, how DDU-GKY supports the same, key features of the scheme and the roles of the CLFs. The CLF will create voice and space for the poor in the village and help initiate development intervention for poverty reduction and improving quality of life. Sri Akhleshwar Mishra Programme Manager, Capacity Building and IEC, JSLPS led the sessions.
Mr. Devi Prasad Charavorty, Centre Manager, SafeEducate Pvt. Ltd. shared the experience of training of candidates in their PIA. He also shared the process of mobilization being practiced by their PIA.

Mr. Shailendra Mishra, IEC Expert, TSA, JSLPS took sessions on IEC and its uses. He said that project success depends on the selection of “Right Candidates for Right Trades”. He said that awareness on DDUGKY/Roshni project at field level is very crucial activities of the project. He said that there are various modes through which awareness could be done. He said that different types of IEC awareness and branding materials could be used for awareness and mobilization. He said that JSLPS skill team has prepared number of awareness and branding tools like FAQs, Leaflets, Brochures, Signage Borad, Posters, Booklet, Videos and Audios. He said that effective use of these tools will certainly help in selection of “Right Candidates for Right Trades”.

Women’s Cricket Match at Himayat, J&K

On 30 August 2024, one of the PIA in DDU-GKY- Himayat, namely Jammu & Kashmir Youth Development Forum (JKYDF) having a non-residential training center in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir Division organised a cricket match of women trainees at Sainik School Ground in Mansbal. 18 women trainees (Groups A & B) participated in the Cricket match . Group A won the game by 12 runs.

Support to SRLMS in Capacity Building
As CTSA DDU-GKY has provided handholding support to the SRLMs as per their demand. In the month DDU-GKY team in Gujarat facilitated the 3-day capacity-building activity plan for SRLM officials, TSA & PIAs. This program upskilled the officials on SOP Guidelines, Mobilization process, PFMS & Finance Module & MIS in KB. In this program officials from HQ delivered online sessions to the participants on PFMS, Finance Module & MIS in KB.

Hi, I am Smriti Rai from Talkharha, Rongli, East Sikkim and my family comprises my parents and 2 sisters. The training I took in Infovalley was beyond my expectations which I never had expected and was an eye opening for me through which I was able to attain my goal a long cherished dream and has come out to reality with flying colors, so during my training period I learned about aviation services, hospitality, tourism, IT, Soft skills & English Language as well. So, finally with the guidance of the faculties and the staff of Infovalley Educational & Research Pvt. Ltd.
