Workshop on advantages of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in KB Portal – Tripura

Robust mechanisms exist to prevent the provision of fraudulent documents in DDU-GKY

TRLM conducted a one day workshop on integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Kaushal Bharat Portal for the PIAs (Q- Team, MIS and State Head) on 9th Aug. 2023.

The program was graced by Smt. L Darlong, TCS, SSG, Addl. CEO, TRLM and Shri Dr. Sankharaj Roy, Chief Operating Officer (COO), DDUGKY. While inaugurating the program, Addl CEO, welcomed and called upon the participants to take the advantage of the new features of Artificial Intelligence (AI) added on the portal which will reduce the margin of errors while uploading the placement documents. She also reminded the participants that while Artificial Intelligence is here to make our work easier, we should not rely completely it. We should use our rational human reasoning and make the upright decisions.

COO, Dr Roy mentioned that placement is a very important part of the DDUGKY program and all financial related instalments are linked to the placement numbers. Hence, the PIA should take utmost care while uploading the placement related documents like the offer letter, salary slips and the bank statements.

The technical session was initiated by Shri Felix Jajo, NABCONS, TSA-DDU-GKY as resource person. The session began with the general understanding of placement criteria as per the guidelines of the SOP and the required documents to be collected as proof of employment. The PIAs have been uploading and tracking the employment status and related documents and to ascertain the authenticity of the placement and settlement process, the State Rural Livelihood Missions (SRLMs) verifies the document. However, on verification it is often found that there are many errors in the documents. Hence, the AI tool is integrated in the portal to check irregularities and incorrect documents submitted by the PIAs as placement proofs like missing personally identifiable information, blank documents, document mismatch and password-protected or corrupted files. Instances of these duplicate documents, double placing of candidates, and other deceptive behaviors emerged, increasing the monitoring load on the SRLMs.

The participants were informed of how the AI system works and how PIA should respond to it. The AI tool issues warnings highlighting the errors if any, in the initial stage of uploading which helps the PIA to recheck & rectify the documents based on the issues highlighted. The participants were made acquainted with the use of the feature to reduce errors and workload in future.

Other issues related to the KB portal related to tickets, assessments were also discussed.
